The
Movie Highlight of the week has to be….
Never
Let Me Go (2010)
I watched this
movie last year and I have a concussion at the moment…great! So I’ve not been
able to do anything, not even TV…apart from a few sneaky movies. Anyway, this
is a sci-fi romance based on the novel by British author Kazuo
Ishiguro. The plot of the
story is about three people, who have been best friends since children, Kathy (the
main character portrayed by Carey
Mulligan, Tommy portrayed by Andrew
Garfield and Ruth portrayed by Keira
Knightley . This friendship, which turns into a love triangle is not
endured by the most normal people. In 1952 scientists had come up with an idea
in which the lifespan of humans was over 100 years. By doing so they create clones, duplicates
of people, they only exist to be organ donors for transplants, they will then
die or “complete” when this process is over (mid-twenties)

Carey
Mulligan
If you a whovian like me, you will recognize her as Sally Sparrow
from the episode Blink. (This happens to be one of my all-time favourite
episodes! She has also starred in big movies such as Pride and Prejudice, an
education and Never Let Me Go (ref. to above).
Carey Mulligan was born in England on
the 28th May 1985. She spent her first eight years of life living in Germany,
but then moved back to her home country, where she now resides in Covent
Garden, London. She was first drawn to acting when she was at school, at just
six years old she was so inconsolable at not being allowed to join her elder
brother in a school play of ‘The Kind and I, that she was eventually allowed a part in
the chorus. - http://carey-mulligan.net/carey/biography/
