Hunky Dory:
Movie Review
No, I am not talking about the David Bowie song (Don’t worry…I
hardly know it either) Well…actually it kind of is about that…anywho. Hunky
Dory is set in south Wales (My homeee♥), where a group of musical students
take part in the end of the year musical.
In the heat of the summer of 1976, keen drama teacher
Vivienne fights sweltering heat and general teenage apathy to put on an end of
year music version of Shakespeare's The Tempest. To engage her students, she
uses hits of the time, which will be performed by a fresh young cast led by
rising star Aneurin Barnard. Written by Websurfer
Not only is it a good story
line and set it my familiar homeland Wales, the characters remind me of a TV
show, Skins. Stella reminds me of Michelle, Vivienne (The Teacher) reminds me
of Angie, Evan is like Maxxie (The blonde, musical, gay one) and Hoople reminds
me of Chris.
It also stars Kimberly Nixon
(Wild Child, Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging, Cherry Bomb)
