Movie Highlight of the week has to be….
Submarine
(2010)
I love a good
old British movie to cheer me up on my homesick days. I have watched this movie
before (while being ill so I didn’t take anything in) this week I was scrolling
Netflix and I came across it again and re-watched it! I have to say…it was a
bit bizarre but I did enjoy it !
“15-year-old Oliver Tate has two
objectives: To lose his virginity before his next birthday, and to extinguish
the flame between his mother and an ex-lover who has resurfaced in her life. “ –IMBD
It features, Craig Roberts as Oliver
Tate (Tracy Beaker, Being Human), Yasmin Paige as Jordana
Bevan, Sally Hawkins as Oliver’s
mother, Jill
Tate.

Agatha
Christie, Marple (2004- )
If you are a
fan of mysteries like Sherlock, or period dramas like Downtown Abbey this ITV
show is worth watching! It features many different recognizable actors and
actresses in these 1hr and half episodes. Agatha Christie’s famous character,
Miss Marple. An elderly spinster, with the observant skills of Sherlock Holmes
and the appearance of Betty White…well the actress Geraldine McEwan, will most
definitely get you thinking as the mystery unravels.
This show is much like Sherlock, although it is set in 1950s
in the village St Mary Mead , not modern day London and acts as an amateur
detective.

Hermit
the Frog – Marina and the Diamonds
I love this song! It is so different and fresh. Mariana and
the diamonds (Mariana Diamandis) is a half welsh (yeees!!) and half Greek
singer. I find she has a similar style voice to Lana Del Ray and Paloma Faith
and the song styles of Ellie Goulding, Little Boots and Rita Ora.

Felicity
Jones
If you’ve been reading some of my posts you might have
noticed that a re-occurring actress is Felicity Jones. She has played a leading
role in Chalet Girl , Like Crazy and Albatross (the movies I’ve seen her in)
and also has starred in Doctor Who (The Unicorn and the wasp, series 4)She has
such a wide range of talent and I like all her characters in all the movies
she’s been in.

City
of Bones – The Mortal Instruments
If you haven’t heard of the Mortal Instruments franchise…honestly?!
No I’m kidding, no really though…you should look out for it! It is a really
great read!
What is it about? - The City of Bones is a young adult novel
that is the first part of the trilogy, The Mortal Instrument. This sub-urban fantasy is set in New York
City where fifteen year old Clary Fray and her best friend Simon are at the
Pandemonium night club, in which Clary witnesses are rather peculiar murder. A
blue haired teenage boy is murdered by three strange looking teenagers, although
the only problem is no one but Clary can see them.
Basically, she enters a hidden world that
lies within our own, a world of magic, chaos, demons and angels. Bla bla bla,
your typical fantasy…but a really good one!
Thaanks for reading!
